It is my pleasure to formally invite you once again, to join our prestigious judging panel as an esteemed judge representing UniPropitia at the eighth annual Gulf Capital SME Awards scheduled to take place on the 25th of September 2019 in Dubai.

Gulf Capital and MEED launched the first edition of the Gulf Capital SME Awards in 2012. Being in partnership for eight consecutive years, we have dedicated our energy and effort to successfully identifying and awarding the UAEs SME growth champions who contribute significantly to the UAE economy.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the SME sector represents more than 94 percent of the total number of companies operating in the country and provides jobs for more than 86 percent of the private sector’s workforce. In Dubai alone, SMEs make up nearly 95 percent of all companies, employing 42 percent of the workforce and contributing around 40 percent to Dubai’s GDP.

We are tremendously proud of the Gulf Capital SME Awards and feel privileged to have the opportunity to bring this incredible event to the industry yet again. The awards aim at highlighting the organizations and people who are contributing to the ongoing development of a critical and challenging part of the UAEs economy. The awards provide a unique platform for SMEs to raise their profile, brands, products, and services. They identify start-ups, innovative SMEs with exemplary products and services, SMEs who invest in their employees’ environments and customer strategies as well as the visionary entrepreneurs leading them.

The Awards have fast become the leading stamp of quality and achievement for everyone operating in the UAE SME sector. For the first time this year, each of the decisions made by our judging panels will be independently audited by Grant Thornton adding considerable weight, integrity and therefore credibility to this event.

We are asking you to join us for the second stage of judging.Owing to the massive influx of entries, coupled with a deep appreciation and respect for your time; we understand that we cannot ask you to wade through multiple forms and entries to then create a shortlist of finalists for you to judge. Therefore to facilitate the process, a specially appointed team at MEED, employing an auditor (Grant Thornton) approved scoring model will work diligently through the months of July 2019 to curate a list of finalists together with their supporting documents for your perusal. We will ensure that you will have had the opportunity to review these entries prior to your participation at the judging session.

The second stage assesses each finalist to identify a winner in each individual category.

We are requesting that you join us on Monday, 9th of September 2019, when we will be judging the finalists of the Business Innovation of the Year category and will require your expertise to adjudicate on the below:
